According to Tracy Molm of the Welfare Rights Committee who is helping to organize the bus trip, “We are going on this bus to make sure Minnesota is strongly represented in the streets of Cleveland during the RNC. We’re saying NO to Trump and his pro-Wall Street, anti-people, racist, Islamophobic, anti-immigrant agenda.”
According to Brad Sigal of the Minnesota Immigrant Rights Action Committee (MIRAC), “Donald Trump is a civil rights catastrophe. We pledge to resist Donald Trump and any attacks on immigrant families, neighbors and communities.”
The press conference will include statements by participants on the bus trip as well as other community leaders that support the trip. There will be a photo opportunity with the bus participants in front of the bus wearing shirts that say “Minnesota says: Dump Trump.”
